Catching Up

There are some days where I feel incredibly behind. Behind in everything. Behind in LIFE. A good example of this is how I have yet to put a photograph in an album since Bill and I have been together. I do have all photos in Snapfish albums, though. But that doesn't help me when I think about showing Georgia the photos when she is older. I want to be able to flip through an album with her. Therefore, one of my many tasks that I want to accomplish before she makes her apperance is to organize and put 7 years worth of photos in albums.

This has proven to be quite a task. I thought I would "simply" make Snapfish albums and have them sent to us. After spending about three hours trying to do that today, I gave up. The cost alone makes me want to vomit. I'm now in the process of ordering the photos and will put them each in albums purchased from Costco.

Wish me luck!

Nola Update

After living with my mom for two months I was extremely nervous and worried that Nola wouldn't recover from being away from me for that long. When I would come home for a visit once a week, she would be very standoffish and made it clear that I abandoned her. She was a total Daddy's girl while I was gone. I was pleased to see how much she bonded with him while I was away, but it worried me that she would never get over my leaving her.

I was WRONG. She is back to being a Mommy's girl!!! She snuggles with me every night and enjoys napping with me during the day. (The doctor told me to nap, so there!) I guess I underestimated how much she loves her mommy.

Now my worry is what she'll do with Georgia arrives. I'm not sure how she will handle sharing me with someone else. Especially a baby who needs me for everything! We shall see!!

Kicking up a Storm!

Little Miss GA is quite a kicker! Unfortunately, she usually enjoys practicing gymnastics when I'm trying to go to sleep or trying to get a little extra sleep in the morning. I keep asking her to get her exercise at more opportune times for Mommy, but she doesn't listening. A sign of things to come??

What's fun about her kicks is now I can actually SEE them. I see my stomach move when she moves. I tried to show this to Bill the other night, but she immediately stopped. Yes, not only does she not listen, but she's also a tease. I can just picture her giggling to herself about the joke she played on Daddy.

HGTV

Bill and I had something interesting happen last week. We "auditioned" for HGTV! I was informed by a friend that HGTV was looking for people for their show Real Estate Intervention. I sent an email to the producer along with our condo listing and interesting info about me and Bill. Four days later, I got a call! Amy, the producer, came to the condo last week with her video camera. She had us go around the condo, talking about what we want help with, why we think it hasn't sold, what we have done as far as renovations, reasons why we did what we did, etc. She also had us talk about ourselves. We talked about how we met, why we want to move and where we possibly want to move to. The next step is for Sabrina Soto, the host of the show, to watch the video and see if there is enough for her to tackle in our condo. We would not be shocked if we didn't make it on the show. We may not because of how much we have already done. IE, we have decluttered already. Personally, speaking as someone who watched A LOT of HGTV in the past two months while cooped up with Mom, I am sick of the decluttering aspect of every show. Every show spends more than half the time decluttering junky houses. I'd rather see something else. Something like US, right?!

The funny thing is, it is a compliment if we don't make it on the show. If we don't, it means we are "good enough" and there isn't enough for HGTV to do to the condo. No matter what, we had a great time with the audition and we really enjoyed meeting the producer.

We will keep everyone posted!

Going Home

The time has come. Mom is doing much better, though not 100% yet. She is now using a cane instead of a walker and has gotten the OK from her therapist to drive.

This means it is time for me to go home. While I'm happy about being reunited with Bill and Nola, I will miss being with my mom every day. We had our disagreements, of course, but we also had A LOT of laughs. I must admit, it was pretty nice to be able to spend all this time with her. I don't think we have ever spent so much time together. These last two months have made me very thankful that she uprooted her life in Shreveport to move close to us. I can't wait to bring Georgia over to her Nana's house for tea parties!!

Now it's time for me to buckle down and plan for Georgia!
